Martin Mills is Professor of Education and Director of the Centre for Teachers and Teaching Research at the Institute of Education, UCL.
He is the former Head of the School of Education at The University of Queensland, where he holds an Honorary Professorship. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences Australia, and has held Visiting Professorships at Kings College London, Roehampton and Queen’s Belfast. He has been a President of the Australian Association for Research in Education.
His research interests include, social justices issues in education, teachers’ work, gender, and alternative forms of schooling. His books include Boys and schooling: Contexts, issues and practices; Teaching boys: Classroom practices that work: Challenging violence in schools: An issue of masculinities. He is on the editorial board of the international journal Gender and Education. Martin is a former high school English and history teacher.
