Esyin is the founder of the EUREKA Robotics Lab at Cardiff Metropolitan University, researching and designing humanoid robotics in education, hospitality and healthcare. The UK Parliament Artificial Intelligence Select Committee published her expert viewpoint on the implications of AI, titled: “What are the implications of artificial intelligence? In Love and War. Esyin’s discussion of the robotics education and skills provision for the Fourth industrial revolution has also attracted international interest as published by the UK Parliment Education Committee.
Specialising in advanced technologies and data visualisation, Esyin provides consultancy and training workshops such as humanoid robotics, Turnitin/GradeMark, data harvesting, visualisation and analytics using robots, Tableau, and Python. She facilitated institutional blended learning implementations, staff development, technology enhanced assessment & feedback best practices / policy development in Wales and Malaysia. Esyin has acted as an invited reviewer for various high profile academic journals and as a keynote speaker for international conferences in robotics, AI and educational technology disciplines. Esyin is one of the 2017 Welsh Cruciblees and holds a doctoral degree in Blended Learning, a MSc and BSc in Computer Science, specialising in AI. She worked in Monash University Malaysia, University of South Wales and University of Malaya as an interdisciplinary academic – Computer Scientist and Educationist. Prior to her academic career, Esyin was a software engineer in Acer Group and eBusiness Ltd. Within academic and industrial industries, Esyin is an active researcher who has led government, university and industrially funded research projects from the EU, Australia, Malaysia and the UK.
